Choline may promote brain development and improve memory
Nature has formed a number of mechanisms to ensure the growth and development in the animal received a sufficient number of choline. Placenta may regulate the transport of choline to the fetus. Experimental observation, Neonatal brain activity has strong phosphatidylethanolamine-N-methyl transferees (the enzyme is not present in the adult rat brain).
In addition, human and rat milk provide large number of choline for infants.
